Engineers design replacement for collapsed Kansas bridge

A section of highway connecting Kansas City and its suburbs collapsed recently, and engineers are now busy working up plans for replacing that segment, possibly with a bridge. Meanwhile, an investigation into the cause of the collapse is under way. One culprit could be a buildup of groundwater around a retaining wall that supported the roadway.
