New Jersey's halted Xanadu project asks state for rescue

The entertainment and shopping complex that was supposed to open at the New Jersey Meadowlands is behind schedule and over budget. The project, known as Xanadu, was supposed to open three years ago, and $2 billion has been spent on it. The project needs $875 million to be completed. Developers are asking the state for a financial rescue.
