Analysts: CBS likely has upper hand in retrans dispute

CBS' decision to play hardball with Time Warner Cable in their retransmission-consent negotiations probably will work in the broadcaster's favor, two leading analysts said. RBC Capital Markets analyst David Bank and Wells Fargo's Marci Ryvicker both noted CBS' ratings dominance as a justification for seeking higher fees. Richard Greenfield of BTIG Research disagrees, citing CBS' summer programming schedule and the availability of Aereo in the New York City market as factors favoring Time Warner Cable.
