Architects balance maximized floor space with greater design features

In recent decades, most architects have approached building design with the goal of producing as much rentable floor space as possible given lot size and height restrictions. A new trend, however, scales back on overall floor space to allow designers some breathing room to make buildings that have more interesting exteriors and optimally designed interiors, in an effort to attract the best and most sought-after renters.
