The U.S. must place greater importance on math and science to close the technology gap, according to author Gary Beach. The former tech-magazine publisher says Americans must master both technology and the five C's: critical thinking, communication, collaboration, creativity and confidence. "A nation of math and science wizards who can't think, communicate, collaborate or create, is a nation of machines. The successful countries of the 21st century will, and must, do both well," Beach writes in his book "The U.S. Technology Skills Gap."
