Bilingual program teaches girls about marine science

Middle-school girls from Monterey and Santa Cruz counties in California are exploring subjects in science, technology, engineering and math through an marine-focused summer camp sponsored by the Monterey Bay Aquarium. The Young Women in Science camp, which includes bilingual instruction, was designed to spark an interest in STEM subjects among girls and minorities through hands-on activities such as kayaking and conservation projects.
