Publishers are concentrating on the ideal length of a video for viewing and sharing, with most choosing 45 seconds to 2:45 for optimal virality, according to Ze Frank of Buzzfeed, a site that generates about 50 million views a month. Buzzfeed uses catchy headlines and experiments with the formats, including quizzes, lists and faux studies to entice viewers to view and share videos.
