CBO report boosts odds that student-loan compromise will pass

Hopes are growing that the Senate's bipartisan student-loan bill will go to the Senate floor for a vote this week now that the Congressional Budget Office has said the measure would reduce the deficit by $715 million over the next decade. The bill would link student-loan interest rates to the 10-year Treasury bond. Some Democrats remain opposed to the bill.
