CFPB is sued for having too much power

Morgan Drexen, a provider of software and other support to debt-relief lawyers, is suing the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau in federal court, contending the agency is unconstitutional because it has too much power and lacks proper checks and balances. Morgan Drexen says the agency tried to get information from it that should be protected under the client-attorney privilege. That information includes the names, addresses and income data about clients of law firms using Morgan Drexen services, it says.
