Colo. plant's food-safety standards lauded by Vilsack, others

Leprino Foods' cheese-processing facility in Greeley, Colo., has been praised by Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, Gov. John Hickenlooper, and Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius for food-safety standards. During the visit, the officials recognized the plant as an example for other facilities in terms of food innovation and safety, the Greeley Tribune reports. Sebelius praised the plant's design because it aims to produce safer food, the paper says. "We really should not take for granted facilities like these," Vilsack said.
