COPD may increase risk of microbleeds, study suggests

Researchers found that patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease had a higher risk of cerebral microbleeding. Magnetic resonance imaging scans indicated that the prevalence of cerebral microbleeds among COPD patients was significantly higher compared with those with normal lung function. The 810-patient study was reported in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine.
