DOJ sues Fla. for keeping children with disabilities in nursing homes

The Justice Department on Monday filed a lawsuit against Florida for unnecessarily housing 200 children with disabilities in nursing homes and cutting services that would permit them to receive care at home or in community-based settings. Federal officials said the state has made some improvements but cited ongoing violations against the Americans with Disabilities Act.
