Doubt grows over SEC fiduciary rule in the year ahead, observers say

As the Dodd-Frank Act reaches its third year, advisers say they're more doubtful that the Securities and Exchange Commission will issue a fiduciary rule in the year ahead. "With new commissioners on board" soon at the SEC "and new research data to absorb, in some key respects we are starting anew," says Knut Rostad, president of the Institute for the Fiduciary Standard.
