House committee proposes Medicare cost-sharing plan

Republicans on the House Ways and Means Committee proposed three options for reducing Medicare spending: raise income-related premiums for Parts B and D, increase the yearly Part B deductible for new enrollees and create a $100-per-episode copayment for home health care. Enacting all three options would save $60 billion over a decade, committee members said.
