Math curriculum changes in Texas mean summertime training for educators

Some Texas educators say recent changes to state law will allow them to teach the math skills and concepts that students will need in college and careers. The changes -- including a reduction in the number of standardized tests from 15 to five, while the curriculum will be adjusted with an eye toward college and career readiness -- have resulted in hundreds of teachers participating in summer training programs to learn what's new.
