Netflix worries open-source advocates with push for digital rights in HTML5

Netflix is looking to shift its video streaming technology to HTML5 video standards, a move that also has the company lobbying for the inclusion of a digital rights management technology in HTML5 standards. The effort has prompted a call for a boycott from members of the open-source community, who say they are concerned that any such technology would decrease transparency and lead to a boom in the use of digital rights technology on the Web.
