Paramount Citrus to buy citrus assets from Grimmway Farms

Paramount Citrus will acquire the citrus assets of Bakersfield, Calif.-based Grimmway Farms, a deal that will give Paramount 7,000 additional acres of California orange and lemon groves. The acquisition will give Paramount 20% of the total domestic sales of California lemons, the company said. "This adds 2.4 million packages (40-pound equivalents) to our annual citrus operation," said Paramount President David Krause.
