Program seeks to develop "math masters"

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette has launched a math specialist program that eventually will train 20 "math masters." Educators taking part in the program are learning how to teach math on a deeper level and connect math skills to real life. In addition, participating educators will share their knowledge with colleagues, host math camps for middle-school students and mentor those majoring in education.
