Siemens: Field modification should fix turbine blade issue

The activity of about 700 wind turbines around the world was cut short when two Siemens-manufactured turbine blades at different wind farms fell off. Siemens conducted a root-cause analysis and determined the blade design was not the issue, but rather a failure in the adhesive bonding was at fault. Siemens said it will conduct "minor field modification to all existing B53 blades to enhance the bond between the root segments."
