Study: Hispanic shoppers buy more dairy at convenience stores

The NPD Group says Hispanic shoppers are more likely than non-Hispanics to purchase groceries at a convenience store, and that dairy products, such as milk or ice cream, are among the most frequently purchased items. Hispanics are 27% more likely to buy dairy items at a convenience store than other shoppers, the study found. "Having a good range of grocerylike items and other staples may increase Hispanic traffic, and promoting fresh foods considered to be more homemade or cooked should resonate well among Hispanics," analyst David Portalatin said.
