Type 2 diabetes may be more fatal than type 1, study says

Data on 824 young adults showed those with type 2 diabetes died sooner and had twice the mortality rate as those who had type 1 diabetes at 20 years' follow-up. Researchers also found patients with type 2 diabetes showed higher blood pressure readings, macrovascular disease complications and albuminuria prevalence and worse neuropathy scores than those with type 1 diabetes. The results appear in Diabetes Care.
