U.K. sells 80% stake in state-run plasma products firm

U.S. private equity firm Bain Capital paid the British government about $353 million for an 80% stake in blood products company Plasma Resources UK. The U.K. Department of Health "is retaining a 20% stake in the company. We will have a seat on the board and there are safeguards in place which mean Bain Capital cannot materially change the nature of the business," an agency representative said.
