Canadian company lands deal to build 3 anaerobic digesters in the U.S.

Himark Biogas, a Canada-based company, has struck a deal with NEO Energy to build three anaerobic digesters in the U.S. to turn food waste into electricity and fertilizer. The digesters will be constructed in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, where new laws require recycling of food waste, said NEO Energy President Robert Nicholson. The plants could take up to a year to build, Nicholson said.
