Comcast posts gains in Q2, including in high-speed data

Comcast reported net income of $1.99 billion for the second quarter, compared with $1.73 billion a year ago. Revenue was up 3.5% to $16.8 billion. Comcast slowed its video subscriber losses to a loss of 144,000 basic video customers in Q2, down from 162,000 in the second quarter of 2013. High-speed data additions for the quarter came in at 203,000, up from 187,000 additions in the year-ago quarter.
