Virginia school teaches respect, character

Inner-city students at the Achievable Dream Academy in Newport News, Va., have returned to school after just a five-week summer break to learn discipline and structure. The program, begun in 1992 as a partnership among the city, schools and business community, is credited with boosting scores on state tests and motivating about 90% of its graduates to go on to college.
