Airlines cut back on routes as losses mount

As reports of second-quarter losses from some carriers come out this week, many have also announced additional capacity cuts later in the year. Hit hard by record fuel prices, United Airlines and US Airways, for example, have deepened the cuts being made in the fourth quarter to both domestic and international routes.
