The greening of direct mail

Direct marketing is heading in a more sustainable direction with the formation of the Green Marketing Coalition to develop environmentally friendly guidelines and the U.S. Postal Service's creation of an "environMAIList" to recognize marketers with green-friendly practices. But critics say these efforts lack teeth because they fail to set benchmarks and don't bring any new ideas to the sustainability table.
