Northwest reports Q2 loss of $377M

Northwest Airlines reported a second-quarter net loss of $377 million, a drastic drop from the net income of $2.1 billion reported in the second quarter of 2007, after the airline emerged from bankruptcy. The airline had an impairment charge of $547 million in 2008, however, and it said if not for the charge, it would have had an income of $170 million in the recent quarter.
