California student presses lawmaker about school cuts

Ashante Throwerwommack, a 12-year-old Sacramento girl, stopped a California state lawmaker after a news conference and asked about cuts to the state's school budget. State Assemblyman Sam Blakeslee, citing his own two children in public schools, said lawmakers were doing what they could to protect funding for education, even as tax revenues decline.
