House bill includes $2B for high-speed rail

A bill recently passed by the House of Representatives includes $2 billion in funding for high-speed rail projects. The high-speed rail funding was more than twice the amount requested by the White House. The legislation also would boost funding for transportation and housing projects for the 2010 fiscal year by 25% as well as lay the foundation for a national infrastructure bank.
