John Deere to shut down Canadian assembly line next month

John Deere plans to shut down its assembly line in Welland, Canada, after 100 years of production. John Deere Welland Works will cease production on Aug. 6 in preparation for the plant's closure on Nov. 1. Around 120 employees will remain at the plant to conduct maintenance and ship the remaining inventory.
