Nevada court upholds dismissal of lawsuit challenging Lazy 8 project

In a unanimous decision, the Nevada Supreme Court upheld a lower court's decision to dismiss a lawsuit filed by opponents of a proposed casino in Spanish Springs. The plaintiffs argued that the city of Sparks acted arbitrarily when it settled a lawsuit in 2006 related to the Lazy 8 casino project. Meanwhile, the Sparks City Council will consider the Lazy 8 project at an upcoming meeting, and it is expected to certify an earlier vote that overturned a decision by the planning commission in relation to the project.
