Report looks at popularity, dangers of car surfing

Deaths from car surfing -- riding on top of a moving vehicle -- have been increasing since 2000, according to a review of patient records from 1995 to 2008. The report says car surfing started in California and quickly spread across the U.S. via music, video games and videos on online social networking sites. Experts say car surfing has a high risk of bodily injury, especially traumatic brain injury.
