Scientists develop mice from reprogrammed skin cells

Two independent groups of Chinese scientists said they created live mouse offspring by reprogramming mature mouse skin cells into an embryoniclike state and then injecting the cells into an early-stage embryo. The breakthrough might enable researchers to develop stem cell lines that assist in treating humans while sidestepping controversial laboratory techniques.
