Special-education professor calls for changes in teacher training

Paul Sindelar, a professor of special education at the University of Florida, thinks institutions educating teachers need to re-evaluate training for special-education teachers, writes Education Week reporter Christina Samuels. Sindelar said at a recent conference that special-education teachers need extra training in Response to Intervention techniques and should be offered higher wages for their specialization.
