Louisiana officials say $1B pipeline will spur growth

Work has begun on a $1 billion natural-gas pipeline that will span 175 miles of northern Louisiana. The 42-inch pipeline, composed of 105,000 tons of steel, will transport 2.4 billion cubic feet of gas per day, mostly supplied by Louisiana's Haynesville Shale region. More than 2,800 temporary jobs have been created.
