Old Spice hopes viral success will translate into sales

Old Spice's social-media ads dominated the viral-video charts this week, collectively racking up more than 30 million more views than their nearest rival. Now analysts are watching to see if the previously flagging brand will experience a spike in sales. "If P&G wants to make Old Spice into a winner, it simply needs to stay the course," writes Lydia Dishman. "Old Spice Man's racked up over 4 million views in under 24 hours, and counting. That smells like success is just around the corner," she notes.
