Sen. Reid plans to defer climate bill until after August

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., plans to offer a narrow energy bill next week, with the intention of waiting until after the congressional August recess to unveil a broader measure with emissions caps on the utility sector, sources said. Reid was said to have discussed his timetable for climate legislation with Democratic senators at a caucus on Thursday.
