Travel agents looking to make strong connections at networking events should first adopt a "giving" mindset -- focused on providing aid before expecting anything in return, Richard Earls writes. "Spend some time at every networking function thinking about the needs of others. Giving of yourself, making it clear that you have every intention of assisting others, makes you a more likely target for the same treatment. People do business with people they like, and a charitable nature will provide the natural pathway to empathetic behavior," Earls writes.
