Google appears ready to step up Glass production

Google's disclosure that it has purchased a 6.3% stake in semiconductor maker Himax Display indicates the company is ramping up production of Google Glass, according to a published report citing a government filing. Himax's parent company makes liquid crystal on the silicon chips and modules that Glass uses. Google's filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission notes that the money will "fund production upgrades, expand capacity and further enhance production capabilities."
