House debuts legislation against patent trolls

The House has introduced an anti-patent-troll bill to expand the review process for business-method patents within the America Invents Act of 2011. "Patent trolls have become an enormous headache for our industry, and those costs are sent down to consumers," FMI Regulatory Counsel Erik Lieberman said. "The average profit margin in our industry is less than 1%. This is not just a high-tech issue."
