Los Angeles opens adult-fitness playgrounds

Los Angeles has developed 40 adult playgrounds at parks to offer fitness options for people who cannot or do not want to work out in a gym, officials said. A report from the nonprofit group Trust for Public Land said city parks can be used to promote public health, and it recommended mixed-use facilities for children and adults.
