Pa. city council makes contractors grant benefits to same-sex couples

The Pittsburgh City Council has voted unanimously to require city contractors with a contract worth $250,000 or more to offer benefits to same-sex couples. The legislation was sponsored by Councilman Bruce Kraus, who is openly gay. Kraus says the vote is "a show of unity, if you will, that the city of Pittsburgh stands firmly with a diversified, very-broad-based workforce."
