RFA's Dinneen: Biofuels standard is an "unmitigated success"

The Renewable Fuel Standard has been an "unmitigated success," lessening the nation's reliance on foreign oil, putting downward pressure on fuel prices, promoting technological innovations, boosting farm incomes and creating jobs, Renewable Fuels Association President and CEO Bob Dinneen said during the first of two days of hearings on the RFS by the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Energy and Power. Dinneen said that despite ethanol's rise as a major corn consumer, the amount of corn available for other uses has not diminished because production has increased steadily over the years.
