Smartphone growth will shift to Asian markets

Asia will drive most of the growth among smartphone makers and vendors going forward, according to analysts, who point to a maturing industry in much of the developing world. "The centre of gravity in the mobile ecosystem is likely to shift from the United States and Western Europe toward Asia," says Mary Ellen Gordon, director at Flurry, a mobile analytics firm. The International Telecommunication Union predicts that mobile Internet users from emerging markets will for the first time outnumber those in developing nations.
