Spartan Stores to take control of Nash Finch in $1.3B deal

Spartan Stores and Nash Finch have agreed to enter into an all-stock merger agreement valued at $1.3 billion, including debt. Spartan will own about 57.7% of the combined company. "Together, we will create one of the premier grocery wholesaler and retail operators, with a comprehensive portfolio of high-quality private brands, nationwide distribution services and a strong platform for future growth," said Dennis Eidson, Spartan Stores CEO.
