Study: More parents take children to retail clinics

Almost one-quarter of parents surveyed recently said that they took their children to retail clinics run by Walgreens, CVS Caremark, Target and Kroger instead of the pediatrician for physical exams and treatment of minor ailments including sore throats, ear infections, colds and flu, according to a study published in JAMA Pediatrics. Parents said they picked the in-store clinics because they had more suitable hours or because their regular pediatrician wasn't available.
