Study shows how social media preps the sales funnel

Social media can help companies to nudge consumers toward a purchase, according to a study by Vision Critical. Researchers found that social media drove real-world sales at about the same rate as online sales, suggesting that some brands could be underestimating the impact of their social programs. "If you are estimating the ROI on social by looking at social to Web, you are missing roughly half your social-inspired purchasing," says Vision Critical's Alexandra Samuel.
