Wet phone lines trigger 9-1-1 calls in Ky., officials say

Western Kentucky 9-1-1 dispatchers recently got several calls with no sound on the line, and when first responders arrived at the scene they found a vacant lot or residents who claimed they did not call. Ohio County 9-1-1 dispatch director Carol Smith attributed the calls to wet phone wires.
