Australia's AJ+C praised by World Architect News for Sydney building

Australia's Allen Jack+Cottier received a "Highly Commended" status at the World Architecture News Awards for its Kerrie Murphy Building for the International Grammar School in Sydney. The building features polystyrene embedded in precast composite panels to retain heat and glazed openings in the shape of droplets, which provides the building with natural ventilation. "The entire building is made up of only four pieces of concrete per floor; each piece is not only vast but also ready to erect on site in the lightning time of 3.5 hours per floor," said WAN.
